Apple Galette for One …or Two

apple galette

1 granny smith apple, peeled, cored, and sliced

splash of lemon juice
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon butter, cut into small pieces

1/2 cup AP flour
pinch of salt
1/4 teaspoon sugar
3 tablespoons butter, unsalted, cold, cut into small pieces
4 teaspoons water, ice cold

In a food processor combine flour, sugar, and salt
cut in butter
add water

Dump crumbly dough onto a piece of plastic wrap
pulling up the corners, form a mass
wrap tightly and refrigerate for about 30 minutes

Preheat oven to 375°F

Roll out the dough on parchment or silpat

Slice the apples
toss with lemon juice and sugar
place the prepared apples in the center of dough
fold up edges of dough and crimp
dot with butter (optional)

Bake for approximately 30-40 minutes
