Korean-Style Beef – A small batch

This is a cheaters version with all the flavors of Bulgogi, but less hassle.

1/2 pound ground beef
1 tablespoon brown sugar, packed
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons sesame oil
1 teaspoon crushed red-pepper flakes (or to taste)
1 tablespoon ginger, grated (or a 1/4 teaspoon powdered ginger)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 bunch green onion, thinly sliced

In a bowl, combine brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, and ginger

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat
add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute
add ground beef and cook until browned, about 3-5 minutes, making sure to crumble the beef as it cooks
drain excess fat
stir in soy sauce mixture and green onions until well combined
simmer until heated through, about 2 minutes

Serve with rice
